eMusic And Yep Roc Records To Release Exclusive John Doe Live EP On June 22
Rare, intimate performance from roots-punk legend recorded live at New Yorks Living Room
NEW YORK, June 21, 2007 -- On June 22, eMusic (http://www.emusic.com), the worlds largest retailer of independent music and the worlds second-largest digital music service after iTunes, and Yep Roc Records will release an exclusive live EP, Live from the Living Room: the eMusic Sessions, from roots-punk legend John Doe. eMusic recorded the EP earlier this month during a rare intimate performance at the Living Room in New York City. It features acoustic versions of songs from Does outstanding new album A Year in the Wilderness (Yep Roc) and 2005s Forever Hasnt Happened Yet, as well as a stirring version of Burning House of Love, the 1985 hit from Does previous band, seminal LA punk rock outfit X.
To celebrate the release, eMusic will create a special John Doe hub linked from its homepage, which will feature the new EP, A Year in the Wilderness and the critically acclaimed Forever Hasnt Happened Yet. Thehub is at (http://www.emusic.com/features/hub/john doe/index.html) and will later include an eMusic Dozen curated by Doe and featuring twelve of his favorite eMusic albums for fans to download.
Were very excited that eMusic partnered with us to record Johns performance and help support his new studio album, said Jim Logrando of Yep Roc Records. Their marketing efforts will not only help fans discover the new record, but Johns rich catalogue and influences as well.
At eMusic, were always looking for ways to give our subscribers access to things they cant find anywhere else from exclusive performances to unique editorial content like Johns eMusic Dozen, saidRob Wetstone, eMusic Vice President of Label Relations. A lot of our customers have been listening to Johns music for decades, and we know theyll be as excited to get this EP as we are.

Entertainment Weekly calls his work rip-roarin and warm-hearted, Q deems it the tightest, finest and most morally acute music of the last 20 years, and The Boston Globe praises its striking emotional territory...
